Gemma 4: Byte for byte, the most capable open models

Gemma 4 is a fantastic open-source model that uses a memory very efficiently and generates excellent quality results, a little glimpse into a future when a frontier model can run on your phone.

The Claude Code Source Leak

Anthropic accidentally shipped a source map in their npm package, exposing the full Claude Code source! Not great for them, but very fun for everyone wanting to take a peak at the special sauce that has made the Claude models fan favourites.

The machines are fine. I'm worried about us.

It's important to be aware of what we might be losing when we outsource all of our thinking to machines. A lot of the time the output can't be differentiated, but the person doing the workwill have a vastly different outcome and set of abilities. 

Don't Let AI Write For You

Similar to 'The machines are fine', the lesson is that while it can be nice to outsource simple, repetitive tasks to a machine, we should be vary wary about handing over all of our responsibilities and cognitive load to AI. Often the goal and the benefit of doing the 'hard work' is that the discomfort is the thing that makes you stronger. Something to think about.
